Sports Activities in New Haven

The Connecticut Tennis Center is at Yale and hosts the annual Pilot Pen International Women’s Tennis Tournament every August. Formerly known as the USTA Hardcourts, the event has been one of the major stops on the worldwide WTA Tour since 1988. Past champions include Steffi Graf (1988, 1991, 1998), Monica Seles (1990), Martina Navratilova (1992), Lindsay Davenport (1997) and Venus Williams (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002).
