Hurricane Katrina

[Home] [News] [Volunteer] [Messages]

September 7, 2005

Dear colleagues, students, and friends:

In the wake of hurricane Katrina and the devastation it has brought, many of us in the Yale Medical School community are eager to help.  In order to ensure that our efforts are coordinated and effective, this website will serve as a resource for information within the school community.

Medical students, residents, and faculty may list volunteer efforts in which they are engaged or for which they would like assistance.  In addition the Office of the Deputy Dean for Clinical Affairs will post news here as it is received from federal authorities. If you have any questions or concerns you can send me a direct e-mail at david.leffell@yale.edu.

In addition to providing a means for communication, the School is working closely with Yale-New Haven Hospital, which will be coordinating physician and staff volunteer efforts in our area. Thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to those who have been uprooted.

Sincerely,

David J. Leffell, MD,
Deputy Dean for Clinical Affairs
Director, Yale Medical Group
