Preventive Cardiology

The Yale Preventive Cardiology Program offers another approach to cardiac disease by providing consultation for patients with hypertension and lipid disorders. Risk-factor analyses are an additional offering of this group.

The clinical activities of the group encompass primary and secondary cardiovascular disease prevention risk-factor modification lipid evaluation and treatment management of high blood pressure with a particular emphasis on resistant hypertension, complex vascular disorders, and ambulatory monitoring cardiac rehabilitation and women's cardiovascular health, including management of hypertension and cardiac disorders in pregnancy. Faculty members are active in evaluating and treating inpatients in the coronary care unit, cardiac catheterization laboratory, and hospital wards, as well as on an outpatient basis at the Temple Physical Therapy Center in New Haven and the Yale Cardiovascular Medicine offices in Branford and Guilford.
