Cardiology/Echocardiography (Cardiac Imaging)

Yale Echocardiography provides services at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the West Haven Veterans Hospital, and the Yale Cardiology practices in New Haven, Branford, and Guilford. Echocardiograms are acquired on eleven state-of-the art digital cardiac ultrasound machines by more than fifteen certified sonographers. They are transmitted electronically to a digital archive, enabling rapid review by five board certified cardiologists and comparison with images from prior studies. The adult echocardiography service performs more than 12,000 transthoracic, 500 transesophageal, and 1,500 stress echocardiographic examinations per year.
