Pediatric Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat)

Yale Pediatric Otolaryngology comprises otolaryngologists and a highly skilled support staff that includes speech pathologists and audiologists. All physicians are board certified in ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery. As part of the Yale Cancer Center (YCC), the team offers expert care for tumors of the skull base and other malignancies of the head and neck. A collaborative approach with other disciplines such as plastic surgery, dermatology, radiation therapy, oncology and oral surgery, offers the most effective treatment options for diseases affecting the nose, sinuses, larynx and pharynx and for maxillo-facial injuries.

The Yale Allergy and Sinus Program is a multidisciplinary service offered by ENT specialists and allergists. A dedicated ENT subspecialist concentrates exclusively on the treatment of pediatric otolaryngology cases. These children are cared for in the Pediatric Specialty Center and Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital.

The Hearing and Balance Center accommodates adults and children of all ages with disorders of the ear and conditions that affect hearing, balance and facial paralysis (see Programs & Centers). Yale offers the newest advances in surgical techniques and an active hearing rehabilitation program, which includes the most current audiologic testing techniques available with the latest developments in hearing aid technology.

The Speech and Swallow Program accommodates adults and children of all ages with all forms of communication disorders including speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing (see Programs & Centers). Speech-language pathology services include comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative techniques for stroke, voice disorders, laryngectomy and swallowing disorders.
