Yale Pediatric Urology is comprised of physicians whose express purpose is excellence in the treatment of urologic disease. The strong academic and research backgrounds of the group assure a cutting-edge approach to treatment.
Pediatric Urology specialists care for children with urologic diseases, such as congenital anomalies including hypospadias, undescended testes, hydronephrosis and exstrophy of the bladder, and they have expertise in the management of urologic neoplasms, including Wilms' tumors.
The section utilizes laparoscopic techniques such as laparoscopic nephrectomy and orchidopexy. Robotic assisted pyeloplasty is a treatment option. The length of stay with these procedures has proven to be significantly lower than surgery using traditional methods.
