Breast Imaging

Yale Breast Imaging performs more than 14,000 mammograms per year. Screening mammograms for asymptomatic women are performed at Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) and at Long Wharf Radiology. A mobile mammography van brings mammography screening into the community. Diagnostic mammograms, indicated in women with particular signs and symptoms of breast disease, are performed exclusively on-site at YNHH. Also offered are high-resolution breast ultrasound, stereotactic needle biopsy, needle localization, and MRI, which is particularly useful for evaluation of breast implants.
