Clinical Virology

The Clinical Virology Laboratory performs a broad array of tests, including conventional and rapid viral cultures, rapid immunofluorescence staining of clinical samples for respiratory and herpes viruses, viral antibody tests, and numerous molecular amplification methods. The laboratory director is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases and is available to consult on both test ordering and test interpretation.
