Pediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology

Yale Pediatric Gastroenterology/Hepatology comprises a team of clinicians who are devoted to the care of infants, children and adolescents with gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic and nutritional disorders. Faculty members are skilled in the use of endoscopic procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of children. The section strives to provide multidisciplinary care harnessing expertise in GI nursing, nutrition, radiology, surgery, genetics and Yale's centers of excellence in IBD and liver transplantation.

There is a particular emphasis on the care of children with inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders, diarrheal disease, acute and chronic liver disease, and metabolic liver diseases, including lysosomal diseases. Patients are seen in the Pediatric Specialty Center of the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital or at weekly sessions in Brookfield, Connecticut.

The Pediatric Specialty Center is conveniently located in proximity to the outpatient laboratories and radiology facilities. Gastrointestinal procedures are performed in a state-of-the-art Pediatric Endoscopy Center located in the Children's Hospital. The center offers the latest video-based endoscopy equipment specifically designed for use in children.
