Members of Yale Surgical Gastroenterology specialize in diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small and large bowel, hepatobiliary tree, pancreas, spleen, and adrenal glands. Endoscopic diagnosis and laparoscopic treatment of abdominal hernias are performed by this group.
The School of Medicine and YNHH recently expanded services in this specialty area. Yale is considered a laparoscopic center of excellence. Members of this section provide advanced treatment of hepatobiliary disease, gastroesophageal reflux, and diseases of the large and small intestine through endoscopic and laparoscopic approaches.
