Ambulatory Anesthesiology

As outpatient surgery at YNHH has grown, Yale Ambulatory Surgery Anesthesiology has become one of the busiest of such services in Connecticut. Cases have increased not only in number, but in complexity and duration. This is particularly true in orthopaedic, ophthalmic, gynecologic, and plastic surgery. The section continues to meet this challenge while providing specialized, high quality care. An example of recent advances in ambulatory surgical anesthesia currently being utilized in the YNHH surgical suite is preemptive analgesia.
